Courses

IPAF Operator

Aims

To instruct an operator to prepare and operate scissor lift and self propelled boom. (Courses for other mobile elevating work platforms are available on request).

  • The candidate will have, following the course, a working knowledge of sections 2-9 and 18-19 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations including the WAH 2005 Regulations. Be aware of risk assessment and how to implement this.
  • Will be aware of accident control and prevention.
  • The need for personal protective equipment.
  • How to drive and safely manoeuvre a machine as required to a correct position and carry out a nominated task.
  • The candidate will also be able to carry out a thorough pre-use inspection.
  • Be aware of and operate the auxiliary or manual decent procedure.
  • Maximum 4 delegates (2 Machines)
  • Maximum 6 delegates (1 Machine)
  • 9am Start - Approx 4:30pm Finish
What Do I Bring?
  • Hard hat
  • High Vis jacket
  • Safety boots
  • Clothes suitable for cold or wet weather
  • Be at training centre for 8:45am
  • Food is provided at Newport, Shropshire, Redditch and Gloucester training centres only.
