MEWP Instructor

Aims
  • To understand the role of an instructor and their responsibilities
  • To train the instructor to a level of competence
  • To enable him/her to deliver the Instant Training Hydraulic Work Platform Operator Training Course
  • To enable the instructor to assess the competence of his trainees in the safe use of hydraulic work platforms.

All theory, covering aspects of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Riddor 95, the six pack (manual handling, PPE, Work Equipment, welfare, Fire precautions when dealing with MEWPS, Electricity.

  • Instructional Techniques.
  • Discussing in detail the different types of machines, their applications and the variations.
  • The implications and recommendations of HSG19.
  • Beaufort wind scales, SWL’s.
  • Pre use inspections, Prohibited uses.
  • A demonstration of how to present and instruct students on the various machines.
  • Practical application by students of operating the various machines and practice in presenting the machines between the students.
  • Practical Assessment of students instructing on a machine.
